The 12th Ginza Willow Festival (2019) Day: May 5 Place: Nishi Ginza Dori (Sotobori) Street, Ginza, Chuo-ku Parade begins at 12 noon from Nishi Ginza Street (Sotobori Street) 2-chome and ends at 8-chome 1:30 p.m. From 2 p.m. after the parade, many events are held along the street. The festival has been held since 2006 on May 5 in commemoration of the completion of the planting the willow trees (symbol tree of Ginza) along the Nishi Ginza Street. Visitors are given willow saplings free. Grand parade of brass bands includes the Metropolitan Police Department and Tokyo Band Association selected bands and baton twirlers.
